Tex-Mex Tacos
Ingredients
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- Fresh or canned tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- Sauté onion and garlic in oil until soft.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Add tomatoes, oregano, salt and pepper. Cook for 10 minutes until a little thick. This makes the filling which is placed in taco shell and topped with shredded onion, lettuce and cheddar cheese.
- Taco sauce is poured over cheese, if desired.
