Saint Patrick's Day Recipes
Irish Whiskey Sauce
Pour this sauce over pound cake or brownies.
Yield: 1 1/2 cups
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon Irish whiskey
Instructions
- In a 1 quart saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and cook, whisking until well combined.
- Remove from heat and stir in milk, sugar and whiskey. Bring to a boil, whisking constantly, until thickened, 5 to 7 minutes.
- Serve immediately.
