Orange Layered Salad
Ingredients
Bottom Layer
- 1 small box orange gelatin
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 1/2 cups boiling water
- 1 small can crushed pineapple
Top Layer
- 1 small box lemon gelatin
- Juice drained from pineapple
- 1/2 pint cream, whipped
- Pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 cups boiling water
- 3 ounces cream cheese
Instructions
Bottom Layer
- Dissolve gelatin in boiling water.
- Drain pineapple and reserve juice for top layer. Add drained pineapple and orange juice.
- Pour into a mold (which should be half full) and chill until firm.
Top Layer
- Dissolve gelatin in boiling water.
- Add pineapple juice. When it begins to thicken, add cream cheese (add a little milk or cream to soften), whipped cream and pinch of salt.
- Pour on top of orange layer and chill until firm.
- Serve on a lettuce leaf.
