Orange Layered Salad

Ingredients

Bottom Layer

  • 1 small box orange gelatin
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 1 small can crushed pineapple

Top Layer

  • 1 small box lemon gelatin
  • Juice drained from pineapple
  • 1/2 pint cream, whipped
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 3 ounces cream cheese

Instructions

Bottom Layer

  1. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water.
  2. Drain pineapple and reserve juice for top layer. Add drained pineapple and orange juice.
  3. Pour into a mold (which should be half full) and chill until firm.

Top Layer

  1. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water.
  2. Add pineapple juice. When it begins to thicken, add cream cheese (add a little milk or cream to soften), whipped cream and pinch of salt.
  3. Pour on top of orange layer and chill until firm.
  4. Serve on a lettuce leaf.
