Green Goddess Dressing

Green Goddess Dressing originated in San Francisco.

Green Goddess Dressing recipe

Yield: 2 cups

Ingredients

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 2 tablespoons instant minced onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon each dry basil, dry rosemary, oregano leaves and savory leaves
  • 1 clove garlic, minced or pressed
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup crumbled Roquefort or other blue veined cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine buttermilk, parsley, onion, basil, rosemary, oregano, savory and garlic. Let stand for 5 minutes.
  2. With a wire whisk, beat in mayonnaise. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  3. If made ahead, cover and refrigerate for up to ten days. Just before serving, stir in cheese, if desired.

Notes

Dressing may be refrigerated in a covered container for up to 2 weeks.
