Gravy Color and Thickener

This is like Kitchen Bouquet.


  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups water


  1. Put brown sugar in a pan over low heat and let it burn or parch, slowly stirring all the time. When it turns a dark brown, add water and stir well, and then bottle.
  2. Use a few drops at a time to color and thicken gravies and soups.
