Flemish Stew

Yield: 3 to 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 pounds beef or venison stew meat, cubed
  • Pinch of thyme
  • 1 can beer
  • Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Brown onion and meat in a small amount of oil. Add seasonings. Put into casserole and pour in beer.
  2. Cover and bake at 350 degrees F for 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Check it after about 1 1/2 hours. You may want to reduce the heat or increase the liquid.
  3. Serve over noodles or wild rice.
