Homemade Buffalo Wings
Nothing pairs better with chicken wings than a gorgeous tangy and spicy buffalo sauce. The secret to a perfectly rich and silky smooth homemade buffalo sauce? Real butter!
Prep: 10 min | Cook: 50 min
Ingredients
Chicken Wings
- 2 pounds chicken wings, tips removed, drumettes and flats separated
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- Salt and pepper
Buffalo Sauce
- 1 cup hot sauce
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt to taste
For Serving
- Ranch dressing
- Celery sticks
Instructions
- Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and set wire rack inside.
Chicken Wings
- Spread chicken wings on prepared pan and brush with butter. Season with salt and pepper.
- Bake the chicken wings for 50 minutes, flipping halfway. The chicken wings should be crispy and golden brown when fully cooked.
Buffalo Sauce
- While the chicken wings bake, combine hot sauce, cubed cold butter, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper and garlic powder (and salt to
taste!) in a saucepan over medium low heat. Bring to a simmer and stir to melt the butter, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool, allowing the sauce to thicken.
- Stir once more. Place the baked chicken wings in a large bowl, adding the buffalo sauce and tossing together until fully coated.
- Serve classic buffalo wings with ranch and celery sticks, and enjoy!
