Homemade Buffalo Wings recipe

Prep: 10 min | Cook: 50 min

Ingredients

Chicken Wings

  • 2 pounds chicken wings, tips removed, drumettes and flats separated
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper

Buffalo Sauce

  • 1 cup hot sauce
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt to taste

For Serving

  • Ranch dressing
  • Celery sticks

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and set wire rack inside.

Chicken Wings

  1. Spread chicken wings on prepared pan and brush with butter. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Bake the chicken wings for 50 minutes, flipping halfway. The chicken wings should be crispy and golden brown when fully cooked.

Buffalo Sauce

  1. While the chicken wings bake, combine hot sauce, cubed cold butter, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper and garlic powder (and salt to taste!) in a saucepan over medium low heat. Bring to a simmer and stir to melt the butter, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and let cool, allowing the sauce to thicken.
  3. Stir once more. Place the baked chicken wings in a large bowl, adding the buffalo sauce and tossing together until fully coated.
  4. Serve classic buffalo wings with ranch and celery sticks, and enjoy!
