Josephinas

While this makes a great appetizer, it is also the perfect accompaniment to a spicy pasta dish or hearty soup. Green chiles add a little extra personality to Josephinas, a warm, cheesy bread.

Josephinas

Yield: 10 to 16 slices

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread (baguette)
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) Challenge Butter (salted)
  • 4 ounces mild diced green chiles
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Slice French bread into 1/4 inch slices. Cream butter and mix with the other ingredients.
  2. Spread mixture evenly on the bread slices and place face up on a cookie sheet.
  3. Place under a broiler until bubbly.
