Butter Pecan Bread
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a loaf pan.
- Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Stir in sugar and pecans.
- Combine egg, buttermilk and butter.
- Add dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened.
- Pour into prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 45 minutes, until done.
- Cool slightly before removing from pan.
