White Castle Cheeseburgers

White Castle Cheeseburgers

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 packet Lipton onion soup mix
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • Sara Lee Classic Dinner Rolls, sliced in half
  • Dill pickle slices (optional)
  • Cheese slices (Kraft Singles or sliced Velveeta cheese)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl mix the ground beef, soup mix, peanut butter and milk. Spread the meat mixture on a rimmed cookie sheet. Use a rolling pin to roll over the meat to smooth it out.
  2. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 10 minutes. Remove it from the oven and place the diced onions all around the edges.
  3. Bake for another 15 minutes, remove from oven, then spoon the onions from the edges all over the top of the meat and layer with dill pickle, if using, and cheese slices.
  4. Bake for another 7 to 10 minutes until cheese is melted. Add the tops of the rolls and place back in the oven for about 5 more minutes.
  5. Remove from the oven. Slice the meat with a pizza cutter and pick up the slider/top bun with a spatula and set it on the bottom bun.
