Tomato Sauce
Yield: 4 cups
Ingredients
- 1 (35 ounce) can Italian tomatoes
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 1/2 teaspoons basil
- 1 large clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 peeled carrot
- 2 tablespoons chopped green bell pepper
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a simmer, then simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
- Remove and discard carrot.
