Butterscotch Apple Crisp

Recipe Ingredients

Apple Layer

  • 2 1/2 pounds (about 6 medium) tart apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 2/3 cups (11 ounce package) NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE Butterscotch Flavored Morsels
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon


  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 3/4 cup quick or old-fashioned oats
  • Ice cream or whipped cream (optional)


  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Apple Layer: Arrange apples in a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  3. Combine morsels, sugar, flour and cinnamon in small bowl; sprinkle over apples.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes; remove from oven.
  5. Topping: Combine flour and sugar in medium bowl.
  6. Cut in butter with pastry blender or two knives until crumbly.
  7. Stir in nuts and oats; sprinkle over apple layer.
  8. Bake for additional 30 to 40 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is lightly browned.
  9. Cool slightly.
  10. Serve warm with ice cream.

Yield: 10 servings
