Syrup Recipes
Praline Syrup
Yield: about 4 pints
Ingredients
- 2 cups dark corn syrup
- 1/3 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup pecan pieces
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Combine syrup, sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil; boil for 1 minute.
- Remove from heat; stir in pecans and vanilla extract.
- Pour into hot jars, leaving 1/4 inch head space. Adjust caps.
- Process for 10 minutes in a boiling water bath.
Notes
If you are going to use the syrup in a fairly short period of time, make half a batch and keep in the refrigerator.
