Base:
1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 c butter or margarine
1 egg, beaten
Combine flour, sugar and salt. Cut in margarine, then egg and work with fingers until smooth. Press into 15 x 10-inch jellyroll pan.
Glaze:
1/3 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brandy
2 tablespoons honey
1 package sliced almonds
Combine ingredients for glaze (except nuts) and bring to a boil. Remove from heat, add almonds and spread evenly over base.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes until golden brown. Cool, then cut into diamonds or squares.
Yields 6 dozen.
