Peanut Butter Brownies

Yield: about 3 dozen

Ingredients

• 3/4 cup shortening
• 3/4 cup peanut butter
• 2 1/4 cups granulated sugar
• 5 eggs
• 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
• 3/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
• 3/4 cup chopped peanuts

Instructions

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 15 x 10 inch baking pan.
2. In mixing bowl, cream shortening, peanut butter and sugar.
3. Add eggs and vanilla extract; mix well.
4. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; stir into creamed mixture.
5. Stir in chocolate chips and peanuts.
6. Spread into the prepared baking pan.
7. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
