Easy Resurrection Rolls (Empty Tomb Rolls)

No Photo

Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 large marshmallows
  • Melted butter
  • Cinnamon sugar

Instructions

  1. Give each child one triangle shaped section of crescent roll. This represents the tomb. Each child takes one marshmallow which represents the body of Christ. Dip the marshmallow into the butter and roll in cinnamon and sugar mixture. This represents the oils and spices the body was anointed with upon burial. Lay the marshmallow on the dough and carefully wrap it around the marshmallow. Make sure all seams are pinched together well (otherwise the marshmallow will "ooze" out of the seams).
  2. Bake as per instructions on the crescent roll can.
  3. Cool.
  4. Break open the tomb and the body of Christ is no longer there! Explain that the marshmallows represent the body of Jesus. It was customary in Bible times to put spices on the body of someone who had died. Roll the marshmallow in butter and cinnamon sugar to symbolize Jesus’ body being covered in spices. (John 19:38-40) Celebrate God's love!
