Christmas Hazelnut Balls
Empty contents of jar into a large bowl. Add 1 cup softened butter and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract. Combine well by using a large wooden spoon or your hands to mix thoroughly. Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes.
Form dough into 1 1/4 inch balls. Do not make them too large or they will not cook properly. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 375 degrees F oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until set but not brown. Do not over-bake. Let stand for 1 minute in the pan then remove to a wire rack. Cool until barely warm.
Roll in sifted confectioners sugar. Cool completely, then just before serving, roll again in the confectioners' sugar.
Yield: about 40 balls
