1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon mace
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 cups mixed candied fruit (or more if needed to fill jar)
Attach the following recipe on a gift tag:
Christmas Jewels
Heat oven to 325 degrees F.
Mix contents of jar with 1/3 cup shortening, 1/2 cup molasses and 1 egg. Mix to blend well. Drop by teaspoonsful about 1 inch apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes.

Layer the following in a 1-quart jar:1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon mace
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 cups mixed candied fruit (or more if needed to fill jar)
