Date Nut Squares Mix in a Jar recipe

Layer the following in a 1-quart jar:

3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup golden brown sugar, firmly packed
1 cup chopped dates
1 cup chopped walnuts

Attach the following recipe on a gift tag:

Date Nut Squares

Heat oven to 350 degrees F.

Combine contents of jar with 2 eggs; mix well. Pour into greased 9-inch square pan. Bake for 30 minutes. Cool 10 minutes.

Cut into 24 squares. Dust with confectioners sugar, if desired.
