Date Nut Squares Mix in a Jar

Ingredients

• 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup golden brown sugar, firmly packed
• 1 cup chopped dates
• 1 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

1. Layer the ingredients in a 1 quart jar.
2. Attach the following recipe on a gift tag:

Date Nut Squares

Heat oven to 350 degrees F.

Combine contents of jar with 2 eggs; mix well. Pour into greased 9 inch square pan. Bake for 30 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes.

Cut into 24 squares. Dust with confectioners' sugar, if desired.
